Risky Hygiene
In cases where girls are unable to access proper hygiene products, the result is the usage of unsanitary alternatives including newspapers, old socks and even plastic bags. We’re reducing the health risks of poor hygiene and keeping our girls healthy year round.
Going Hungry
In the overwhelming majority of states, feminine hygiene products are deemed “non-essential,” exempting them from government assistance programs. By creating ease of access to these must-have goods, we give more struggling girls the freedom to have their period without going hungry too.
Missed Opportunities
In the U.S, nearly 1 in 5 girls will stay home from work or school due to the humiliating stigma that surrounds period poverty, keeping them one step behind their male counterparts. Together, we’re putting girls back in the classroom.
